Digital PR
Digital PR earns attention through a story, data point, expert reaction or useful asset pitched to relevant media. It offers less control over timing, wording and links, but can produce strong editorial credibility.
Guest posting
Contributed content offers more control over topic and structure. It can be useful when the publisher is legitimate and the article serves readers, but commercial arrangements and link attributes require careful disclosure.
Predictability
Guest placements can be more predictable because topic and publisher are discussed in advance. Digital PR is less predictable because editors decide whether the story is newsworthy.
Risk
Both routes become risky when relevance is weak, publishers are chosen only for metrics, content is mass-produced or payment is hidden. The acquisition method matters as much as the page appearance.
Choosing a mix
Use digital PR when you have a real story or expert angle. Use vetted contributed content when you can teach the audience something useful and accept transparent publisher rules.
